We've always been proud that you can make music anywhere and everywhere with IK gear and now loop master Dawson has proved it: "I recorded a live version of ‪Hello‬ by ‪Adel‬e at 5364 m at‪‎ Everest Basecamp‬ using iRig Pro DUO - I was exhausted, oxygen deprived and freezing."

It was a few days before Christmas 2015, that Paul in our UK office received a most unusual phone call from producer and loop guru, Dawson: "I'm about to embark on an expedition to the Himalayas to prove that you really can make music up a mountain, can you advise me?". He needed a lightweight but powerful audio interface and the smallest keyboard he could lay his hands on to take along on the trip. Following our advice, he grabbed an iRig Pro DUO together with one of the first iRig Keys MINI's off the production line to be sent direct to his home in Bethnal Green in the East End of London.

Dawson's initial report was on the 29th December from St. Anton in Austria on a ski slope where he comments:

"I used nothing but a GoPro camera, an iPhone and an iPad to record and edit this video. If you're interested in the apps I'm using, I used Loopy HD, VocaLive and SampleTank, with the iRig Keys MINI (behind the iPad!) and iRig Pro DUO for the audio interface. I then used to Garage Band and iMovie to edit the audio and video."

A few weeks later he posted his video on the 25th January at the base of Mount Everest in the Himalayas. He comments:

"I recorded a live version of ‪Hello‬ by ‪Adel‬e at 5364 metres at‪‎ Everest Basecamp‬ a few days ago using iRig Pro Duo from IK Multimedia. I was exhausted, oxygen deprived, and freezing so things got a bit weird."

We'll be sure to update you as we receive more news from Dawson. We're fascinated to find out where he will be performing next!
