"This handy interface further broadens the already wide scope of iPhone & Co applications by turning it into a fully functional MIDI controller, recorder or sound module. The installation is fast and uncomplicated and more and more new Core MIDI apps keep arriving and can be used with iRig MIDI - the circle is complete."
Recording Magazin's (Germany) Erol Ergün has taken an in-depth look at IK's iRig MIDI and SampleTank in their January 2012 issue which has just hit the shelves.
Read some of his comments here:
"iRig MIDI sports a very clever power function: with the help of the supplied micro USB cable and the Apple charger, the connected iOS device gets automatically charged while in use. This is an excellent idea implemented by the developers at IK."
"not just very compact but with just 19 grams very light as well."
"The hardware installation turns out to be incredibly easy"
"pleasingly low latency [with SampleTank]"
"IK Multimedia's iRig MIDI and SampleTank offer a complete MIDI recording and output system for iPhone (4 and 3GS), iPod touch (3rd and 4th generation) or iPad (1 and 2). The compact and handy iRig MIDI does a smooth and seamless job as a universal MIDI interface. Therefore this interface further broadens the already wide scope of iPhone & Co applications by turning it into a fully functional MIDI controller, recorder or sound module. The installation is fast and uncomplicated and more and more new Core MIDI apps keep arriving and can be used with iRig MIDI - the circle is complete."
Here are some quotes from the original review in German.
