How do I back-up or transfer my TONEX Library (Tone Models & Presets)?
Locating your files:
On the Mac/PC version of TONEX, you can find all of your Tone Models & Presets stored in a file "Library.db". This is located inside of the location below.
TONEX Library location:
The TONEX Library and all related files will be found in your Documents folder inside the IK Multimedia folder, then inside the TONEX sub folder.
Documents > IK Multimedia > TONEX
To back-up your Tone Models & Presets:
There are many ways to back-up your TONEX library. The first is to use the Menu > Account tab inside of the TONEX app. All files backed up here will be listed found in the Documents folder. This is most useful if you're using a single machine.
To manually back-up the entire Library.db, for use on other machines, copy the Library.db file (or the entire Documents > IK Multimedia > TONEX folder) and move it to a new location. Close TONEX, then paste this to file elsewhere on your drive or another drive.
To transfer your Tone Models & Presets to another machine:
Close TONEX on both machines, then copy/paste the Library.db file to the same location on your new machine. On the new machine, any purchased Tone Models will need to be authorized via IK Product Manager.
If you have any single Presets you'd like to import/export:
This can be done by hovering over the Preset in the list view and clicking the export option, or using the Preset drop down menu to find both import & export. This will come in handy in case you have any Tone Models you want to save before transferring your original Library to your new machine.
Please keep in mind individual Tone Models cannot be exported at this time without being saved to a Preset. To export a Tone Model, this must be saved to a Preset first.
