How do I control the level of my Mac/PC when using TONEX ONE?

When using the TONEX ONE, the connected Mac/PC (or iOS) system volume will be controllable through the app being used to playback audio (For example, YouTube, Spotify, or Apple Music).

To control the level of the Tone Model, or really your guitar, you can utilize one of the different levels of the TONEX ONE pedal like the knob on the front of the unit.

Below is an explanation of the different gain/level controls you have with TONEX ONE in order.

  • INPUT TRIM - This control is accessed in the Global Set-up* of TONEX ONE with the Treble knob. This controls the gain on the guitar signal coming into the TONEX ONE and going into your Tone Model. This is similar to the setting the input gain on your audio interface.
  • GAIN - This control is accessed by pressing the ALT button on your TONEX ONE. While the top 3 knobs (Treble, Bass, Middle) are flashing, move the VOL/GAIN knob. This is similar to the gain on your amplifier.
  • VOLUME (VOL) - This control is the main function of the VOL/GAIN knob, accessed by default when powering up the TONEX ONE. This will allow you to match the volume of the different Tone Models you have loaded. This will let you go from crispy clean sounds to dirty distortion without any level jumps.
  • GLOBAL VOLUME - This control is accessed in the Global Set-up* of TONEX ONE via the VOL/GAIN knob. This controls the overall output level of your pedal after all other levels regardless of their Volume setting.
*On macOS you can also control the volume of the alerts independently or set them to play through a different output click here for more info. On mobile device (iOS), this can be controlled in a similar, but different way, click here for extra help on iOS.
