How do I get started with iLoud MTM in an immersive setup?

iLoud MTM works like any other speaker in an immersive setup with one important exception: the onboard calibration of each unit.
Before proceeding, make sure you have iLoud MTM firmware (v1.2.2) or greater installed. This will give you the option of using MTM’s onboard 80Hz crossover rather than an external crossover.
Next, you’ll need to set up your speakers to match the Dolby specifications of your configuration. To mount iLoud MTM, you can use the ⅜” mic stand thread located under each speaker.

Once all are positioned properly, proceed to the calibration of each speaker.*

  • To start the calibration, position the included ARC MEMS microphone in your listening area (see user manual for more details) and hold the CAL (Calibration) button on the back of each speaker.
  • Let the iLoud MTM complete the measurement.
  • Once done properly, a green LED will flash and each unit will switch from DESK or FLAT to the CAL position to indicate the Calibration is enabled. This can be turned off at any time for comparison purposes by switching to the DESK or FLAT modes.
*We suggest using the same microphone at the same listening position for calibrating all of the speakers. Just connect the cable to the various units as you calibrate each one.
Once all speakers are calibrated, if you don’t want to use an external crossover, we recommend taking advantage of the latest iLoud MTM firmware (v1.2.2). This allows you to set the internal iLoud MTM crossover to 80Hz, the standard for most immersive setups. For more information on subwoofers, click here.
From here, you can get started mixing your sessions with confidence using your newly calibrated iLoud MTMs.
