In the recent review, SoundBytes tests T-RackS The Farm Stone Room, an accurate recreation of the stone live room of Genesis' personal studio at "Fisher Lane Farm," modeled after the legendary Townhouse Studios drum room where Phil Collins famously recorded "In The Air Tonight" and Peter Gabriel's "Intruder."
The stone walls of this relatively small-sized room give drums a huge sound, especially when run through the SSL® 4000G mixing console that producer/engineers Hugh Padgham and Nick Davis used at both Townhouse Studios and Fisher Lane Farm and faithfully reproduced in this T-RackS plug-in.
Here are some highlights and a link to the full review below.
The sound quality here is excellent, let me be very clear about that. I'm impressed with the natural sound of the acoustic space, and I say that having come in with high expectations.
Bringing such a famous sound and workflow to T-RackS users is an ambitious and worthy goal.
I have to hand it to IK Multimedia for the thoughtful and effective presentation of The Farm Stone Room's capabilities.
Drums may be the star, but clear effort has gone into making this a versatile and capable reverb plug-in for many uses.
To that end there are a number of helpful stock presets included to help show what the plug-in can do, each with an Insert and a Send variety.
