Inside Hyde Street Amp Locker

A journey through music’s sacred ground with Produce Like A Pro

Hyde Street Amp Locker is a curated collection of 14 amplifiers used on countless classic albums. These amps belong to and were captured at the legendary Hyde Street Studios exclusively for TONEX users, bringing the historic and unparalleled tones of the iconic "San Francisco sound" directly to your gear locker.

Warren Huart of Produce Like A Pro visits Hyde Street Studios in this full-length documentary. Learn about all the vintage analog gear, including the amps and recording rooms, and go behind the scenes with full interviews of key engineers and the owner. Enjoy.

The Twin Reverb is the loudest, cleanest thing you've ever heard. It does break up though. Very famously, Steve Jones's distorted guitar sound from The Sex Pistols was everything on 10.

The Airline amp is awesome. They used to sell these at Sears and places like that. It's got a unique sound. It just breaks up right away in a pleasant saturation.

Jack Kertzman, Studio manager

When I was a kid, you could buy all this stuff for nothing. Now, we want all that stuff because it's unique — it doesn't sound like everything else. The same goes for that amp. I love it.
