TONEX Parametric Tone Model

The new frontier of guitar tone.

TONEX Parametric Tone Model technology marks a landmark breakthrough in the digital recreation of guitar amplifiers and pedals. For the first time within hardware and software amp capture systems, TONEX AI machine modeling capture goes beyond an ultra-accurate sonic snapshot of a particular setting to recreate how the original gear’s controls respond and interact, with exceptional realism.

Coming to both TONEX software and hardware, the technology debuts in November 2026 as a free update, with 11 Parametric Tone Models available free to all TONEX software and TONEX Board users. Collections from IK Multimedia and participating Tone Partners will follow soon after, with compatibility expanding to all TONEX hardware products through upcoming updates.
Capture up to six controls per Parametric Tone Model from a wide selection of amp controls, such as preamp gain, master volume, tone stack, presence, depth and switches
Use the switch option for amp features such as a bright switch, mid-boost or even custom settings
Up to 10 capture positions per knob
A dedicated symbol identifies each captured Parametric control, with custom labels indicating its function
Full access to standard TONEX tone-shaping controls, including gain and EQ, alongside the captured Parametric controls
Initial playback support: all TONEX Player software versions, including TONEX CS, and TONEX Board
Free launch collection: 11 Parametric Tone Models, including 10 amplifiers and one pedal
Available for free inside TONEX Player and TONEX Board.

Beyond the snapshot. Into the full experience.

The TONEX neural network captures and reproduces the behavior of individual controls and their interaction, bringing the flexibility of component modeling together with the exceptional realism of AI capture.

The result is a new dimension of authenticity: the freedom to explore an amp or pedal across its captured control ranges, with the sound, response and character of the original gear.

Parametric Tone Models preserve the sound of the original modeling session through intelligent defaults while keeping the classic TONEX controls available for further shaping. Compatible across the TONEX ecosystem, including TONEX Board, this breakthrough arrives as a free update, initially for all TONEX Player software versions, including the free TONEX CS, and TONEX Board hardware. Support for TONEX Pedal, TONEX ONE, TONEX ONE+, and TONEX Plug will be added in future updates.

Turn the knobs. Feel the response.

Capture more than a single setting. Parametric Tone Model technology captures how the original gear’s controls respond and interact, opening new possibilities for playing, creating and personalizing tones.

Capture the controls

  • Up to six captured knobs and up to 10 positions per knob. The neural network predicts the response between captured settings and across combinations of control positions.

Add switch options

  • Use the switch option for amp features such as a bright switch, mid-boost or custom settings.

Make it your own

  • The forthcoming TONEX Modeler update will let you capture amps and pedals with your choice of controls, cabinet, microphones and recording chain.

OVERVIEW

Inside the technology. Behind the tone.

Real controls. Captured behavior.

An advanced neural network predicts the sound between captured settings and across combinations of control positions, going beyond static snapshots to recreate how the original gear’s controls respond and interact.

Choose which controls to capture, including preamp gain, master volume, tone stack knobs and switches, and explore how they shape the sound. Each captured control reflects the behavior of the original gear, delivering lifelike changes in tone, drive and response as you dial in your sound.

Familiar controls. A new range of possibilities.

Real amp ↔ Parametric Tone Model
A dedicated symbol identifies each captured Parametric control, with custom labels indicating its function. Each Tone Model loads with the settings used during the modeling session, preserving the sound as it was captured, while standard TONEX controls remain available for further tone shaping.

The realism of TONEX. A new dimension of control.

TONEX V2 · AI Machine Modeling™
Parametric Tone Models build on the sound quality, feel and dynamic response of TONEX V2, expanding the capture from a carefully chosen setting to the behavior of the original gear’s controls.

The result preserves the character of the amp or pedal and the creator’s sonic signature, while adding the freedom to shape the sound across its captured control ranges.
